Foreign Ministry representative Hami Aksoy, reported that 5 European counties got the visa exemption by providing the aim of the development of bilateral relations with these countries and to improve the potential for tourism and other fields.


There are 117 countries citizens who are exempted from the visa of Turkey or can be received through email from the Internet.

Turkey was implementing a visa for citizens of some candidate countries for European Union members such as the Schengen region, Norway (not a European Union member) Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom. To ensure the integrity of the visa regime for members of the European Union (EU) and the Schengen region Turkey decided to exempt visa for citizens of candidate countries for EU membership.


Which 5 more European countries obtained visa exemption from Turkey?


Hami Aksoy, announced that " In order to ensure the integrity of our visa regime for members of the European Union (EU) and the Schengen region, Croatia, Ireland, Malta, Portugal and Norwegian nationals from March 2 to leisure travels will carry Turkey, providing for a visa exemption for every 180 days to 90 days to It has been decided."


Emphasizing that it is aimed to increase the tourism potential with these countries, Aksoy noted that on the other hand, it is aimed to develop bilateral relations in other fields as well.


The visa exemption period differs between some counties between 30 to 90 days. The maximum temporary residence permit with a visa exemption is 90 days. Just citizens of 66 countries are exempt from visa for a maximum of 90 days, Russia are exempt from visa for a maximum of 60 days and citizens of 11 countries are exempt from visa for a maximum of 30 days.
