Turkey Ranked 3rd in the World
with 519 Blue Flag Beaches

Environment and Urban Planning Minister Murat Kurum stated that this year Turkey ranked 3rd in the world with its magnificent 519 blue flag beaches.

He said our main goal for 2023, on the other hand, is to become champion in the world.

Due to the environmental investments the water quality of the seas is preserved and improved every year, as a result, the number of blue flag beaches, which is an indicator of clean seas, has increased rapidly this year.

Regarding the latest works done, the following details are shared by the institution:
"We have collected 85 thousand tons of marine litter with Zero Waste Blue. With our 163 waste reception facility, we do not leave a single ship without waste.

We follow the vessels 24/7 with our waste tracking systems. We immediately respond to possible pollution and accidents from 364 coastal facilities.

Today, we are proud of buying it once again. Our country is ranked third in the world with 519 Blue Flag beaches in 2021. Our goal for 2023 is to become the world championship. "
