Continuing its transportation investments without slowing down, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality laid the foundation for the highly anticipated Mahmutbey-Esenyurt-Bahcesehir metro line in August 2021.

The excavation works on the metro line, the tendency which was made in 2017 but the construction of which was never started, started with a ceremony at the Bagcilar construction site.

According to the information we received from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Rail System Directorate, the excavation works on the Mahmutbey Esenyurt Bahceesehir Metro Line have been going on for 6-7 months.

Head of IMM Rail Systems Department Assoc. Pelin Alpkokin, in her statement on her official Twitter account, stated that the foundation concrete of the Theme Park Station, which is the last stage of TBM machines to start tunneling excavations on the Mahmutbey-Bahcesehir-Esenyurt Metro Line, has been poured.

According to the details we received from the Istanbul Rail Systems Directorate, the metro line in question, where the works are accelerated, is planned to be put into service in 2024 if there are no problems.


Mahmutbey-Bahcesehir-Esenyurt Metro will Carry 1.5 Million Passengers


When the Esenyurt Metro, which has been implemented as the continuation of the Mecidiyekoy-Mahmutbey Metro, which will be integrated into Kabatas, is completed, a citizen who gets on the metro from Kabatas will go to Bahcesehir and Esenyurt without a transfer.


Again, according to the details given, the Mahmutbey-Esenyurt Metro, the construction of which was never started despite being tendered in the past, is being implemented as a continuation of the existing Mecidiyekoy Mahmutbey Metro.


The 18-kilometer line with 11 stations in total, which will serve more than 3.5 million people in the west of Istanbul, will open 4 stations and a 7-kilometer section at the first stage. The first phase of the said metro line is planned to be opened in 2024.


With which lines will the Mahmutbey-Esenyurt Metro Line be Integrated?


The Mahmutbey-Esenyurt Metro, which is eagerly awaited by the people of Istanbul, will start from the Mahmutbey station of the Kabatas-Mahmutbey Metro. Mehmet Akif will pass through Halkali Mass Housing, Temapark, Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Hospital, Tahtakale, Ispartakule, Bahcesehir, Esenkent and Ardicli and end at Esenyurt Meydan.

Mahmutbey-Esenyurt Metro will be integrated with Kirazli-Kayasehir Metro at Mahmutbey station, Atakoy-Ikitelli-Olimpiyatkoy Metro at Mehmet Akif station and Halkali-Istanbul New Airport Metro Line at Temapark station.

In addition, according to the details given, it is planned to integrate the said metro line into the Beylikduzu-Sefakoy-Incirli Metro line, which is planned to be built by adding Esenyurt Belediye and Saadetdere stations in the future.
