The remaining second part of Covid-19 Vaccine purchased from China reached Turkey was brought to Istanbul from Beijing by Turkish Airlines (THY) cargo plane.
The first part of the Covid-19 vaccine, which was purchased from the Chinese company sinovac was reached to Ankara on 30 December 2020. The 6.5 million of the second batch of 10 million doses was carried to Istanbul on Monday, January 25, 2021
Last night, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared on his social media account and gave info about the arrival of more doses of vaccines. He said, “The first batch of the second shipment of inactive vaccines with 10 million doses came to Turkey last weekend. As of this morning, the second batch will have reached our country. The COVİD-19 vaccine shipment will continue in pursuance of the procurement program”.
As a result, Covid-19 vaccines, which cover the second batch of vaccines, were brought to Istanbul Airport at 06.00 am this morning through Turkish Airlines cargo plane TK6175 departing from Beijing. Thus, the second part of 10 million doses was completed.
The vaccines deplaned from the plane were then taken to the warehouses for customs clearance.
