According to the flight traffic report prepared by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport ranked first among the airports in Europe with 635 flights operated yesterday.

 

Istanbul Airport was, respectively, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle with 602 flights and Amsterdam Schipol airports with 558 flights.

 

Frankfurt Airport ranked 4th with 535 flights, Madrid Barajas Airport ranked 5th with 534 flights, and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport ranked 6th with 491 flights in a day. Antalya Airport entered the list in 13th place with 303 flights.

In the report, it was noticed that the flight traffic to Paris, Brussels, Antalya, Milan, Warsaw was quite above normal for 2 weeks and the average flight network raised by 8%.

Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival in New Istanbul Airport

 

 

Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival is a great aviation, technology and space technology festival held at Istanbul Airport. This magnificent festival is organized by Turkey Technology Team Foundation. The first Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival was held from 20 to 23 September 2018.

It is the first and only festival which aims to develop. In general, the aim of this organizing this festival is to encourage and develop national technologies and to raise awareness of people in this area.

Seminars, award-winning technology competitions, domestic technology exhibitions take place at the festival. Air shows of parachute jumping, Solo Turk, Turk Yildizlari and similar local and international organizations are also held. The festival is held in New Istanbul Airport for a year and in one of the Anatolian provinces.

The second festival took place on 17-22 September 2019 at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, which is no longer in service. It was announced that 17 thousand 373 teams and 50 thousand competitors from 122 countries applied to the festival, which is planned to be awarded more than 3 million Turkish Liras.

The third festival event was held at the Middle East Fair Center in Gaziantep from 24 to 27 September 2020. Technology Competitions, which were held in 19 different categories in Teknofest 2019 on Istanbul Airport, took part in the competition of 2020 with 21 different categories, unlike 2019.

 

Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival in 2021

 

As Tenofest held in New Istanbul Airport in 2018, this year also Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival will be held in Istanbul from 21 to 26 September. While the number of stakeholders increased to 35, new competition categories were added in areas such as simulation, artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial vehicles. While the budget planned for material support remains the same as last year, the award to be awarded to the ranking teams will be over 5 million Turkish Liras.
