The first logistics base to be established by global e-commerce company Amazon in Turkey with an investment of over 100 million dollars will be put into service in Istanbul in the autumn of 2022 and will offer new job opportunities for more than 1000 people in its first year.
According to the statement made by the global e-commerce company Amazon, Amazon shared its investment plans in Turkey with the public.
With the first logistics base in Turkey that it aims to open in Istanbul in the autumn of the following year, Amazon aims to provide new job opportunities for more than 1000 people in a year.
While an investment of over $100 million is planned for the new logistics base to be established, it is aimed to meet the recently increasing customer demand.
Amazon in Turkey, which was put into service in 2018, has provided millions of products to its customers at affordable and reasonable prices and fast delivery options since its establishment and has provided new job opportunities for more than 500 people to date.
While providing qualified employment in the region with the logistics base to be commissioned in Turkey in line with its long-term business strategies, Amazon will continue to provide fast and reliable delivery services to its customers.
Amazon will start the hiring processes for the center functions such as engineering, human resources, accounting, operations and Information Technology (IT) for the new FBA Base to be established in Tuzla, Istanbul while hiring processes for customer service and logistics teams will begin in the coming months. Amazon will continue to work with partners that already provide delivery services.
More than half of the products sold on the Amazon marketplace worldwide are sold by SMEs. Amazon has supplied over 250 new services and applications with an investment of more than $18 billion to raise the efficiency and profitability of its affiliates.
